Humanitarian hero and celebrated chef José Andrés stopped by University of San Francisco on Thursday to see his nonprofit World Central Kitchen’s operation in action, working to feed COVID-19 quarantined passengers and staff on the Grand Princess cruise ship. He joined Bon Appétit CEO Fedele Bauccio in thanking the chefs, managers, staff, and many community #ChefsforAmerica volunteers who had prepared tens of thousands of salads, jampbalaya, and other meals over several days.

“I guarantee you there are going to be many cities across America with kitchens like these and volunteers like you, and we’re going to have to come together to try to feed people in need,” he said. “You give me hope that we the people, together we can make anything happen.”
