Not everyone gets a poem written for them in honor of their retirement, but not everyone is Sia Mohsenzadegan, resident district manager of Bon Appétit at the University of the Pacific (U of P) in Stockton, CA. Sia has been with Bon Appétit for 33 years, and with U of P for 21 of those years. He’s adored across the board. “I wish everyone could meet Sia at Bon Appétit,” says Merilee McCormick, district marketing manager. “He is so kind, professional, and knowledgeable. So much passion for what we do! He is truly one of a kind.”

Bon Appétit CEO Fedele Bauccio and President Michael Bauccio attended Sia’s retirement celebration on campus in December. “Sia is truly an integral part of the building of this company — from the beginning,” says Fedele. “He really set the standard for leading education account teams, and I don’t think any of us could ever meet the bar he set for hospitality, service, and core values,” adds Michael. Both the campus president and vice-president of student life offered tributes as well (see aforementioned poem!).

An integral part of student life, Sia is beloved on campus by students and staff alike. In 2023, he received the Podesto Award for excellence in student life service and mentorship from the university. The school highlighted Sia’s consistent, caring attention to everyday service and his “trademark special touches — culturally sensitive meals, hundreds of annual catering jobs for special university events and, quite simply, a smile and warm words for all with whom he interacts.”

Sia was at home at University of the Pacific, and at Bon Appétit. “If you love what you do…time goes by fast,” he says. Congratulations to Sia on your remarkable legacy and on your retirement!
