A big congratulations to Executive Chef Mayet Cristobal, Catering Director Michelle Gomez-Arguello, General Manager Branden Vendiola, and their extraordinary team at Buena Vista Café for a successful Service Awards event that was recently held for nearly 2,000 guests.
The multiple food stations spanned the globe including Mexican-inspired street tacos and churro sundaes, steak and chicken frites, vegan tempura, and assorted house-made pizzas. It was an all-hands-on-deck kind of day for the Bon Appétit team, and everyone showed up ready for the show.
“Many days and hours of preparation led to this event,” Mayet recounted. “As I walked around to check the food stations an hour before showtime, I saw all smiles and enthusiasm from the team.”
She also gave thanks to Executive Dining Room Chef Manager Clare Villasenor, Sous Chef Amy Hata, Catering Supervisor Amanda Garcia, and the rest of the kitchen and catering crew, who Mayet credited for ensuring the event was a resounding and delicious success for all in attendance.
The whole night felt like a celebration for long-time employees at the Buena Vista Café. And that celebratory feeling could be felt by all.
“The guests were excited to see their colleagues, and for some of them it was their first time being a part of a big gathering in over two years,” said Mayet.
“We were proud to be a part of this event. I am thankful for the great partnership with our clients. I was inspired by the leadership of our Bon Appétit team, and I was humbled by their generosity,” she went on to say. “I am fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside them during this event and every day! “
