Introducing Buen Provecho, a Cookbook for Hispanic Heritage Month

Each year, from September 15th to October 15th, we come together to honor Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the diverse histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities. This year, we’re thrilled to mark the occasion with something truly special: the release of Buen Provecho, a digital cookbook made entirely by members of our culinary teams across the country who proudly identify as Hispanic or Latinx.

Each dish featured in the cookbook has been submitted by our own culinarians, from executive chefs and sous chefs to pastry chefs and front-of-house team members, who all shared recipes that hold deep personal significance. These are meaningful meals passed down for generations and homey classics that spark memories of family and community.

The title, Buen Provecho, means simply to wish someone a good meal, something that is deeply ingrained in us at Bon Appétit. From savory tamales and pozole to sweet empanadas and tembleque, this cookbook offers an insightful look at the rich culinary traditions across Central and South America to the Caribbean and beyond.

You can dive into the cookbook yourself, or take a peek at a selection of recipes both savory and sweet. To all of our contributors: Thank you for sharing your recipes, traditions, and stories. And to everyone reading: Buen provecho! We hope you enjoy these dishes as much as we’ve loved putting together this collection of recipes.
