Making healthy choices can be tough for college students. Between social activities and homework, personal well-being can often take a back seat. But Bon Appétit makes the healthy choice the easy, default one in the dining hall — and we were recently recognized for our efforts!

FitBie, the health website formed through collaboration between MSN and Rodale, Inc., recently recognized Washington University in St. Louis and Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL as two of the 20 fittest colleges in America.

Wash U was recognized for its efforts to teach students about how to prepare local, seasonal food through events such as “Dine with the Dietician” and “Rookie Cooking 101.” Wheaton made the list for its use of Bon Appétit’s Circle of Responsibility icons (like the one at left) and the Café Bon Appetit website, which provides nutrition information for basic menu items, a proper portion guide, and other tools to help students eat well.

Wash U and Wheaton, along with Bon Appétit’s team at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, also made the Best Food list in Princeton Review’s recently released rankings. The rankings are compiled based on a survey of over 1 million students across the country. (In order to view the list’s full details, you’ll have to sign up for a Princeton Review account.)

Congrats to ALL our teams who make campus dining a healthy and delicious experience for thousands of students nationwide!
